ZETA.ORG 8.0
Introduction

Org 8.0: The Enterprise Architecture Docubook

The unified, authoritative decision-oriented operating model and enterprise architecture for Zeta's Org 8.0 transition.

This docubook specifies the organizational, execution, and economic structures for the transition to Product Line Engineering (PLE) and the Engagement Operating Model.

1. Scope and Purpose

This docubook defines the decision-ownership boundaries across seven structural views of the enterprise. Procedural execution steps are specified separately in the practitioner operating guides.

2. Document Mapping by Role

Target paths are specified by operational responsibility:

  • Board and Managing Partners: Part 0 (Strategic Context), View 4 (Leadership & Partnership), View 6 (Financial Model), and View 7 (Performance, Telemetry & Reward).
  • Operating and Delivery Leads: View 2 (Operating & Delivery), View 3 (Org & Talent), and View 5 (Governance & Risk).
  • Squad Practitioners and Chapter Members: Practitioner Guides (engagement/, product-line-engineering/) and View 3 (Org & Talent).

3. Document Structure

The docubook is partitioned into two parts:

Part 0: Strategic Context

Maps the business model drivers, objectives, and invariants of the Org 8.0 transformation.

Part 1: The Seven-View Architecture

Contains the decisions and boundary definitions of the seven views.

4. Retained Detailed Operating Guides

The following directories in the repository contain the practitioner-level execution manuals:

  1. engagement/: SOW delivery, verification, and transition lifecycle.
  2. product-line-engineering/: Platform core development, variability models, and maintainer workflows.
  3. engagement-readiness-engineering/: Pre-sales scoping, bootstrap toolkits, and requirements-engineering tools.
  4. engagement-win-engineering/: Release engineering, billing telemetry, and support systems.

5. Architectural Backlog & Drafting Register

Chapters where authoritative source documents are undergoing validation are marked as To Be Drafted and contain outline specifications:

View Document / Sub-Section Status Target Scope / Governing Decisions
Business & Product 03-commercial-framework.md To Be Drafted Standard SOW templates, billing boundaries, and commercial customization limits.
Operating & Delivery 02-operating-planes-deep-dive.md To Be Drafted Operational plane transitions across the Product Platform, Engagement Platforms, and Run Planes.
Org & Talent 06-talent-acquisition-training-and-rotation.md To Be Drafted Chapter directories, career ladders, recruitment paths, and rotation amortization.
